8) The LED needs to be securely mounted to the aluminium plate. A heat transferring material, paste or adhesive must be placed between the LED and heatsink to ensure efficient heat transfer. The photo below shows the use of a thermal sticky pad.

9) Solder the resistors to the LED as shown. Note: both resistors are solders to pads marked ‘-‘. I have used insulation removed from standard wire to insulation the resistor leads.
